Irreversible, 2018 by Célia Foussé is an artist based in Paris, France working primarily in photography, social media and graphic design. Her latest oeuvre is titled “Parenthesis” which delves into the unconscious mind during sleep. The average person spends about 26 years of their life in sleep and Sigmund Freud once said: “The interpretation of dreams is the royal road to a knowledge of the unconscious activities of the mind.”  In "Parenthesis" which connotes a break in our daily life the work of  the artist displays black and white photography to explain the unreality of our dreams during deep and paradoxical sleep coupled with the surreal combination of imagery, words and poems recited by her friends which are reputable french artists singers and writers. As well as the layout of the photos reflects the hypnogram that explains the sleep cycle.
